It actually has 4 or 5 snares and kicks, and in-house eq/compression/etc that can tweak the drum sounds to whatever you want.įor my best workflow, I use the multi-out option running to 8 Sonar tracks (no SD busses). And it's just an off-the-shelf Dell that's not connected to the internet (no antivirus). I'm running XP with 3G of RAM and have no issues whatsoever.

Norrie, it sounds like either your settings aren't right or your PC is doing something other than Sonar that's taking your RAM.

Look around and you will find a a deal on some of the upgrade packs I plan to get the evil drums exspansion next :D I used it for about 3 months before idecided to get the metal foundry add on and the newyork lost studios volume 2 thats awesome aswell! Just a word of warning that it wont have a lot of drums I think 2 sets of toms and 2 kicks and a few cymbells and 2 high hats I cant remember off the top of my head and I am not at my Daw TO be honest SD2 you have bought has not got a big choice in gear in side it but the addon packs make up for that Welcome to the world of toontrack you are going to love it! I would also recomend the metalfoundry addon even if you are not a metal fan it comes with a lot more drums and cymbells etc that can be used for all styles Well worth the £41 it cost as I wasnt exspecting a good program for that price I woudl really recomend it! The good thing about EZ mix aswell Is its nor all instruments even vocals and pianos guitars basses etc So I will be re mixing a track with SD' set out to individual tracks like I said above to try Ez mix on and see how it turns out I actualy bought Ez mix today and Iam blowen away with the sounds from it Ive nly used it for about half an hour but its awesome! Its good fun to use sonars Compressors and presets drum tools and just use superior as if it was just a mixed up kit if you get me ? you can get some good sounds!

There will be a default routing but you can change things as needed. Open the S2 interface and go to the Mixer page and select the Multichannel entry from the Fader output/track dropdown menu. It will also create a MIDI track where you can drag and drop or record your MIDI parts that you want S2 to playback. Sonar will create a number of stereo audio track that are automatically assigned to S2. In the Options dialog, make sure that 'MIDI Source' as well as 'All Synth Audio Outputs: Stereo' are checked. It is also fun to experiment sending it all out to sonar from superior drummer and very very easy to do all you do is Open the Synth Rack and go to 'Soft Synths'->'vstplugins', and select 'Superior Drummer'. Mixing in the box is good a lot off good pre sets and things and there is a lot of pre set kits already mixed etc but I find them to peak and then have to pull the sound right down or put al imiter on them its a bit of a pain I now have win7 64 with 12 gb of ram and 4 gig is used just by superior drummer alone keeping it from causing any problems etc

I found it not to work so good in XP with 3 gig of ram Incase you didnt know its a ram based program and sucks the ram right out your daw! Quick question for you though are you useing win 64bit ? and how much ram have you got
